Child Protection Policy

West U Piranhas requires all employees, contractors, agents, Board members and volunteers who have access to, or direct contact with, swimmers or teams to fill out the West U Piranhas Employee Form or West U Piranhas Volunteer Application Form, (collectively and individually “Form”), as applicable. All who assist in such roles must provide a completed application before engaging in any activities involving contact with or access to any swimmers. 

West U Piranhas conducts background checks of employees, contractors, agents, Board members and volunteers who complete a Form. Anyone who fails to complete and submit a Form will not be allowed to participate in West U Piranhas activities as an employee, contractor, agent, Board member or volunteer. One-on-one interactions between a minor and an adult (who is not the minor’s legal guardian) are limited to those that are observable by another adult and within an interruptible distance, such as at public swim practices and meets, except under emergency circumstances. 

West U Piranhas does not tolerate any form of inappropriate conduct, contact, or harassment against swimmers, teams, or individuals involved with the West U Piranhas. West U Piranhas employees, contractors, agents, Board members, and volunteers are strictly prohibited from engaging in any form of inappropriate conduct, contact, or harassment including sexual misconduct or innuendo, against swimmers, teams, or individuals involved in the West U Piranhas. Known or suspected harassment, abuse, molestation or sexual misconduct incidents must be reported to law enforcement immediately upon discovery. We sincerely appreciate all the time and effort that our employees, contractors, agents, Board members and volunteers give to the benefit of our children.
